Awkward moment watching Gremlns with the kids and Phoebe states "that's when I found out Santa Claus isn't real"

It's when Billy and Kate are hiding in the bank from the gremlins. Right after he rescues her from the bar.

I'm not sure if this really qualifies as definitive proof.

Her dad was coming down the chimney to provide a fun festive experience for their particular family. Obviously the real Santa 🎅 can't be doing that for everyone, especially on Christmas Eve - he's a busy man!

Really though, Billy should have corrected her on this as the tragedy doesn't prove anything...
