Did anyone here actually watch this in a theater?
???
shareUnfortunately I missed it by a year since my family moved to the states in 1986, but I do remember it being a new release at the video store and them having a shelf full of it. I rented it so many times as a kid that I may as well have just bought it, but back then tapes were like $40 or so for new release films and I don't remember seeing it for sale anywhere.
It played several times on TBS. I remember it being the ending capstone of the Godzilla Marathon (with one of the ninja turtles providing commentary during commercial breaks) which was the first time I ever spent a whole day just watching movies. They played most of the main Godzilla movies in order (Gojira, Rodan, King Kong vs. Godzilla, Godzilla vs. Mothra, Ghidrah, Monster Zero, Ebirah, Godzilla's Revenge, Terror of Mechagodzilla, and finally Godzilla 1985). I remember taking a break during Godzilla's Revenge (as a 6 year old) because I knew it sucked, even back then. 1985 was epic though, like a major must-see event every time it'd play on TV (at least for us kids).
Great story!
Thanks for sharing!!
What a treat to read :)
