i'm sorry gojira mathew, but i'm going to have to disagree on you on every level.. after Godzilla Vs. The Thing, he came back in Ghidorah, The Three Headed Monster and was a good guy... and following that trend i think every movie until Godzilla 1985 is rubish.... Godzilla became less menacing... less destructive.. and less effective... compare the original Godzilla and Son of Godzilla and you can say they are equally effective... NO... minus Godzilla 1954, Godzilla 1985, Godzilla vs. Biollante, Godzilla vs. The Thing.. and to a lesser extent Godzilla Raids Again, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1993) and Godzilla vs. Destroyer... the godzilla films are cheesy, ineffective, and laughable... portraying Godzilla as un stoppable force like in Godzilla original and 1985 is way more effective than having him get beat and come back against Gigan or Titanosaurus.. not to mention he looks a lot meaner in those films that the muppet like look he adopted in the late 60s to Terror of Mechagodzilla.... if you want a muppet bash watch the Godzilla films from 1965 to 1975, and 1991-1995 .. but if you want to see a serious, well thought out, menacing godzilla with a good storyline to back it up, watch the films i listed.. otherwise.. you'll find youself laughing and being embarassed watching the other films (especially if you have your friends over)
