As a kid I didn't know this film was dubbed. I didn't understand the concept of dubbing, and I didn't realize that movies were made in other languages. Obviously I found out when I was a teenager that this film was dubbed from Japanese. Did any one else grow up watching the English versions, thinking they were the originals?
shareI knew that most of them were English language versions of Japanese films. The thing that I wondered about as a kid is why a Japanese company made a movie starring an American actor (Raymond Burr).
I don't know when it was that I finally figured out that they cut and pasted him in.
I used to think all those Godzilla movies were originally in english too. It's rather sad to see some of them butchered up like this movie. Not to mention, when you grow older and realize the horridness of some dub jobs.

But some of the dubbing in 1985 sure didn't look right to me. Like they weren't saying what they were saying.
