As Ray_Donahue pointed out on another thread, the 30th anniversary is coming up. I'm hoping they re-release this movie in theaters. I never got to see it on the big screen. I'd love to see it in theaters.

Would be AMAZING.

Top Gun was re-released in 3D recently, which is another Paramount film.

Unfortunately a Tom Cruise classic is probably more marketable than a Kevin Bacon classic.

Maybe for the 40th anniversary...

I would love a theatrical re-release. I don't think it would work in 3D, but just a regular re-release would be amazing.
