A Corny Plot.......

but good music and good dancing. Bacon's a good 'footlooser' and it's interesting to note that he, much like John Travolta, quit dancing after one or two movies during a Hollywood career.

Just a corny plot.....period. A town that bans dancing? Lol WTF!?.....melodramatic, ridiculous, unintentional laugh fest.....A town that bans dancing....lol.....oooh no!! Don't do that! Don't ban our dancing!!! Anything but that! Lol....my god this movie is bad on all levels. Two things that the 80's should never be forgiven for: Corey Feldman and Footloose.

It was based on a real town from what I remember. Honestly everything in the 80s was equally over the top. I mean look at goonies. A group of children track down buried treasure based on a map all the while evading criminals in a comical fashion? Dont get me wrong, I love it and all silly 80s movies, but lets not pretend it was just this movie thats guilty of that...

They didn't ban dancing in the goonies.....now, the goonies did suck, that is true, but this overly dramatic corny movie was twice as bad.

Here is a newspaper article from 1980 about Elmore City's 100 year ban on public dancing, which was the inspiration for Footloose:

Mind you, there is no mention of people being busted for playing loud music in cars!
