SJP (Rusty's) dancing in this VS Girls Just Want to Have Fun

After all the years I've watched these 2 movies, I just noticed that SJP's charachter Rusty really is not shown dancing much in Footloose. She's only shown dancing at the bar in the next town and barely in the last scene when Ren leads the dancers out to the credits and she was in the back... BUT, just the next year, she was tearing it up as Janey in Girls Just Want to Have Fun. I know Rusty wasn't the main character in Footloose, but I would have thought they'd have shown her dance more, she obviously has talent! Just my thoughts, what're yours?! :)

What's funny to me is that in "Girls Just Want to Have Fun," any good dancing is not in the TV show or the competition. There's some decent dancing in other parts, but in the TV Show, especially the ending, it's all coreographed and jumps from ledges and slow-motion stuff.

In Footloose, I thought she danced well when they showed her dancing, like in that bar where Chris Penn's character doesn't want to admit he can't dance.

It is unfortunate that Ariel and Rusty weren't allowed to shine during the end dance, but the director wanted to show off all the LA pro dancers.

She was cute in the cowboy bar.
