The mill was filmed in Lehi, Utah.

Payson and Lehi are both near the eastern side of I-15.

Lehi is North of Provo, while Payson is to the South of Provo, between Santaquin to its south, and Spanish Fork to its north.

The mill, in Lehi, should also be in the Payson/Bomont area.

The current Payson High School was built in 1967 as both a high school and community bomb shelter during the cold war and has a current student enrollment of just over 1000 students in grades 10 through 12. Payson High School was also a site for the filming of the 1984 film Footloose, as is much of the surrounding Payson area.

Payson won state wrestling in 2009 and 2010. The first back-to-back state championship in the history of Payson High School.

Payson High School used to cover one of the largest geographical areas for one high school. It drew students from Payson, Santaquin, Goshen, Genola, and the rural communities of Elberta and Mosida. However, when Salem Hills High School was built in 2008, the areas of Elk Ridge, West Mountain, and portions of Payson no longer attended Payson High School.

Payson is where most of the 1984 hit movie Footloose was filmed, in settings such as Payson High School and Sudsie's, a local car wash. The town was also one of the locations for the 1985 thriller Warning Sign. Payson was the setting of the 1975 children's movie Banjo the Woodpile Cat. The town is a film favorite for seminary videos filmed by the LDS Church. The popular Mormon film Baptists at Our Barbecue was also shot on Payson's historic Main Street. Most recently, Payson was used to film most of the Disney Channel movie Hatching Pete.
