the teacher comes into the room right when he is saying to the other guy "i don't want your drugs" the teacher had to have heard him. there is absolutely no *beep* way that teacher didn't hear him just tell the guy I DON'T WANT YOUR DRUGS so its absolutely *beep* retarded the teacher would treat him as if he was just accepting drugs from the guy

I don't understand why he didn't say thanks and light that joint up. And then he should have grabbed that dude and beat the life out of him. That's how I would have handled it.

It was the Reagan administration era, ie"Just Say No" So obviously that scene was put in there to show what the President/Congress thought about drugs at the time.

Now it looks quite tame, its just a joint which is legal in a couple of states. But at the time, pot was considered as bad as heroin. Not by me, but the do-gooder politicians, supreme court etc....

It doesn't matter if the teacher heard him or not.

He was a small minded peckerwood who had it out for Ren, and the joint was an excuse to go off on him.

It's too bad they didn't have cell phone videos back then so Ren could have recorded it. Yes, the teacher was a total douchebag like many other powers that be in that town and had it out for him just because he was an outsider hipster from a large city.

Had he walked out with it, he would have been busted and the teacher got greedy and came in the room too early, that's why he flushed it down the toilet, because Ren recognized it as a set up, notice how the other kid just walked away.
That teacher and his car, gone, totally gone.
