Judith Barsi
I don't know if there is another thread about this or not, but Judith Barsi, who played Kimberly at age 3, was murdered by her father just four years after this television movie was produced. Her mother, Maria, was also murdered at the hands of Josef Barzi, who after killing his wife and daughter, set fire to the house and then shot himself in the garage. Just eerie, when you watch this film, just knowing that it was not only portraying such a horrific case, but knowing that young Judith had a very similar fate awaiting her. So sad.
This is an excellent miniseries, by the way. Great performances all around, especially by Gary Cole. It looks like DNA has finally proven that MacDonald did kill his family, despite him maintaining his innocence. The set up was just too similar to the Manson murders.
How could anyone do what he did? I think he should have been charged with the death of his unborn son too, but that was not the way the system worked.
