The Thing connection?
Richard Dysart plays Dr. Lee, Penn's father.
Richard Masur has an uncredited cameo as the bartender who gives Hutton a drink.
In John Carpente's The Thing, Richard Dysart plays Dr. Copper (the guy whose hands get eaten by the hidden thing when he tries to use a defibrillator on it).
In the same movie, Richard Masur plays Clark (the husky expert).
Is this just a weird coincidence, or did Dysart do Masur a favour here, or was it Schlesinger's inside joke, or what?
