I agree completely, Hugo Chavez was a horrible man. Those on the far left who have idolized him are, first and foremost, completely ignorant of what went on in Venezuela. The celebs who champion him, like Danny Glover, Belafonte, and Penn are either stupid, ignorant, or true Stalinists.
I traveled to Venezuela in 2005, and 2006, with a group, most of whom were Bush-hating leftists. Almost to a person, they concluded that Hugo was the source of Venezuela's problems and an evil and dangerous dictator.
Hugo's mission was economic equality for Venezuela, and he was successful to a degree. Now nearly all Venezuelans are poor.
