So, how close is this movie to real events?
Is it like In the Name of the Father or Murder in the First or did all this actually happened as depicted here?
If so, WOW...

It's been quite a while since I read the book, but they got most of the details right. Some things were changed or compressed. And, of course, there's the whole afterstory, where Boyce breaks out of jail and becomes a bank robber. Truly stranger than fiction.
shareBoyce's escape from prison in 1980 (and subsequent recapture in 1981) was written about in the sequel book "The Flight of the Falcon" but since Boyce did not participate with Robert Lindsey in writing the book, the majority of the book is focused on the manhunt by the US Marshals. Boyce has a new book coming out this year that tells about the escape and recapture and everything that happened after (surviving prison, etc.). One thing I never knew was that he didn't do time in any country club, but in seriously frightening prisons. Should be interesting.
