No, i don't believe he ever did, i have often seen and read interviews with him where he talks about Dune where sometimes he is the one who brings it up. I however never heard him ever speak kindly about the film.

😦😦😦OMG, I came here to read it one last time before IMDb shuts down the boards. That thread was a MASTERPIECE. Some of the funniest, inventive and most clever stories about how David Lynch would hear anything related to Dune and go into a full rage. 😟.

Glad this party-poopy IMDb site is downsizing, hopefully down to zero users.

So Lynch was down Cape Cod, relaxing on the beach. These youths drove up in jazzy jeep and asked him if he wanted to tour the dunes. Next thing, Lynch was kicking sand in their eyes and tossing shells at them. It was an ugly scene. Children were evacuated to a safe zone by the lifeguards.
