Director's cut

I remember back in the days of VHS, "Crimes of Passion" was available in a blue, 'R' rated version, and a red box that contained the 'unrated' version. Does someone know if this new "directors cut" dvd is that red, unrated version, or is this something totally new? And if there is a difference, what new scenes are in the dvd?

reply

It's the Unrated cut again plus extras in the form of a director's commentary and deleted scenes (including a confrontation between China Blue and Bobby's wife.)

There is also an extended scene with Bobby going through China's room while she is out. They show a clip from an adult movie that was not in the two previous versions on VHS. This is part of the film and not included as a deleted scene.

It's the same as the unrated version (the difference between the R and Unrated version is the S&M scene w/ the cop was edited out)

"Talent is a vampire. Talent is a whore. Talent is American, always wanting more..."

The scene with the cop is the best scene in the film!

There are some great one-liners between China Blue and the Reverend Peter Shane. I also love the opening sequence when she's "Miss Liberty 1984" and the camera pulls out...and...well, if you saw the film, you remember. I certainly don't want to spoil it for anybody.
