It's a Lovely Life

I love the song 'It's a Lovely Life' (written by Rick Wakeman, sung by Maggie Bell). That whole sequence was just so '1984 MTV video'. Totally cool. Also Anthony Perkins' rendition of 'Get Happy' priceless as well. I dug this flick.

The hook in the chorus is adapted from Antonin Dvorak's 9th Symphony, From the New World. I sure agree it's vintage MTV style.

The soundtrack is brilliant. I cannot listen to New World Symphony without visualizing Kathleen turner in that shiny blue dress and Anthony Perkins clutching the monster dildo.

I love "It's a Lovely Life," and it's unfortunate that Maggie Bell is just a pop music footnote. Rick Wakeman's score was incredible as well.
