It's too bad that you didn't like it. I'll be watching the recently released Blu-Ray in about an hour; it arrived in the mail today, and I couldn't be happier about it. CRIMES OF PASSION is one of my favorite films of the '80s, and I've seen more than my share from that (or any) decade.
It's also a film that Mr. Perkins was very fond of, and which he devoted a great deal of time and energy to. He and director Ken Russell became fast friends and Perkins even got licensed as a minister so he could perform Russell's wedding to his second wife... with Miss Turner in attendance.
I'm a big fan of Perkins and his work, and regard his best performances (e.g. PSYCHO, FEAR STRIKES OUT, PRETTY POISON, PLAY IT AS IT LAYS, etc.) in the highest esteem. He was a master at the craft of screen acting and wasn't a bad director either. That said, I believe that CRIMES OF PASSION deserves mention with those films, not only as one of his finest performances but as one of the most impressive movies he took part in... and if Mr. Perkins were available and willing to talk to you, he'd tell you so as well.
You might give it another try some time, preferably not on YouTube.
