PG has sure gone downhill

while i've seen this movie numerous times since i was a kid, it was always on tv so it was censored of course. after all the complaints i've read about the rating change from the first movie on the internet, i was expecting some super watered down action and violence.

but color me surprised when i watched the blu-ray tonight (i watched the first movie earlier this afternoon) only to discover that its just as violent and bloody as the first movie. my guess is the R rating for the first was due to all of the nudity since this one obviously contains none.

but its so funny because movies that are PG-13 today would never be this violent and graphic even though its a rating "higher" than this very movie. its just funny and sad to see how much PC-ness had killed the movies. lol

Barbarian's still way more violent. The Destroyer's violence, though bloody at times, is far more lighthearted and cartoonish when compared to Barbarian's explicit brutality.

This movie should have been PG-13 for sure.

This movie would have been PG-13 today. The Rating came out in 1984, but they still were less strict. They were less strict even in the 90s!

And it would of been Pg13 back then too. signed common sense.
