Misunderstood film

What people don't understand is that "Bolero," both it's style, and content, is a direct tribute to the silent films of the time it takes place in, the early 1920's. Bo's character becomes romantically involved with both a sheik and a matador, the two characters that Rudy Valentino was most famous for playing. Every woman in the World was in love with Valentino, and shared fantasies of sheiks and bullfighters. "Bolero" possesses a sweet innocent quality, and is a highly enjoyable tribute to Hollywood's Golden Age of Silent film. Back in the day I didn't realize this, but now, as an adult with extensive film knowledge and knowledge of that period, i can at last appreciate this gem of a film. It is highly misunderstood by most who see it.
