Solved. Mexico vs Greece: Location versus fictional place???

Hi all. If you happen by my post, I sure would appreciate a little help.

I have a film clip in my mind. I have never seen anything other than the clip. I'm pretty sure I saw the bit on TV originally. I can't match it to a movie. Maybe you can help me figure it out.

The audio I believe is Phil Collins-romantic; the "colours" are warm golden light/sepia/sunrise-sunset/natural stone; water is in the far distance-sea/ocean; architecture is very clean but somehow very old, lots of arches; characters are in a house and on it's patio and seem to be 2 together and 1 separated; scene feels like a regretful, "we don't need to talk about it, but we all know this is going to cause sad problems" scene that follows their night of love-making; if and who made love with whom I don't know; somehow the clip always makes me feel this is the morning after the characters engage in a menage a trios--but I really don't know.

With regard to the characters, I regret I have nothing to go on, except somehow they seem younger (highschool, early college) than my current thoughts of Ward and Bridges who in my mind are forever stuck in ThornBirds and StarMan ages respectively. But all three films are from 1983-4, so maybe my mental mystery clip is of a flashback in the film??? I can't even tell you if it's 2 females and 1 male or 2 males and 1 female.

With that preamble, I have always thought this clip was filmed in Greece; it looks so much like the beautiful natural looking houses on the hillsides of the Greek Isles, BUT I can't find a film that matches.

The closest I could get so far is Against All Odds. However, what I read is that That plot takes the characters to Mexico. And apparently the film was filmed in good part in Mexico.

So could you tell me, does any of the plot unfold in Greece? Is any of the film filmed in Greece?

If it's not a Phil Collins melody in the background? Can you suggest a movie that fits my mental clip? Three young people in a beautiful isle hillside retreat.

At the time, I was too young to believe the unknown movie, from whence the scene came, would be appropriate for me. Still the beauty of the location has haunted me, in a peaceful, "I'd like to go there and just think", kind of way. Also, I didn't really know who Phil Collins was; years later I love his music, and they seemed similar. Now I really want to figure this out. I'm going to rent Against All Odds, but I wonder where to look next, if my mental "recording" is not of Against All Odds.

Oh, and this might help: If one were to somehow file this clip in a mental memory folder it would join the scenes of Warren Beatty at his grandmother's villa in Love Affair; and scenes of the restored house in Under a Tuscan Sun. More of a lovely place to live scene, rather than of a plot point scene.

Any help is appreciated.

The film you are talking about is likely Summer Lovers, directed by Randal Kleiser (The Blue Lagoon) and starring Peter Gallagher, Daryl Hannah and the late Valerie Quennesen. It takes place in the Greek isles and your description seems a perfect fit for this film about a menage a trois. The music would have been Chicago, "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" probably. Was released at the same time.

I am free. But life is so cheap.
