What happened to the jet car? Is it gathering dust somewhere?

Does anyone know what happened to that cool jet car he drove? It wasn't in the film much (although I wish it was). Is it in someone's collection gathering dust somewhere, or was it dismantled for parts after the production?

According to the notes the jet engine was "borrowed" (and presumably returned). As for the 1982 Ford pickup, it may have gone the way of many 17-year-old trucks. We still have our memories.

Also what ever happened to the the buckaroo banzai and the hong kong cavaliers bus? Most references say its a Neoplan Skyliner, talk about the ultimate collectable!
