which version to watch?

I just got this on dvd (from Netflix) and it lists a longer and shorter version (called the theatrical version). Which one is best to watch?

The difference between the two versions is strictly the opening. The Theatrical opens with a "BB" logo, and then we see the desert terrain before moving into the first scene (Buckaroo drives through a mountain).

The Extended version opens with some home movie footage showing the original Jet Car test (featuring Jamie Lee Curtis' long lost cameo as Banzai's mother). Rawhide can be heard narrating the footage.

The "extended" version is not much longer and is fun to watch.
