secret to the main theme

I like the score for this film, only sorry there wasn't more. The BB main theme has a timeless quality and there are a couple of reasons for that. At the risk of getting Sci-Fi dramatic and geeky (and where better than here?) I can tell you that it has to do with the Secrets Of The Overtone Series (!).

If anyone's interested I'd be glad to hash it out here. In the meantime I'll put in a shameless plug for my new book, 'Guitar Music for the Mid-Life Crisis (Music: Why We Listen, Why We Play)' in which these secrets (and more) are revealed (!). Not sure what the posting guidelines are but here's a link for more information. Thanks.

What? No one here interested in The Secrets of the Overtone Series ?

This is a shameless self-bump, I know, but it may keep the page going, draw some attention to a great little film and, possibly, a pretty good little book, 'Guitar Music for the Mid-Life Crisis ) Music: Why We Listen, Why We Play)'. The book mentions the BB theme in a chapter on THE SECRETS OF THE OVERTONE SERIES.

Hmmm....gonna have to give it a real listen next time it's on....we are lucky we've been able to receive so many oldy but goody movies thru Thistv. and MeTv, Movies, and the like

i didn't know overtones were exactly a secret...but yeah, if utilized properly they can be quite etheric

thanks for bringing it up.......you probably already know about this, but google CYMATICS sometime.......fun stuff if you're into frequencies of the sounds of music, etc.

Well, the existence of the Overtone Series hasn't been much of a secret since Pythagoras but the book 'Guitar Music for the Mid-Life Crisis (Music: Why We Listen, Why We Play)' goes into the fact that the BB main theme, 'Also Sprach Zarathustra', 'Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star' and certain other melodies have something in common and why that might be.
