So what was with them all having normal Earth / Human names? Nobody seemed like it was a shock when they all had a normal name instead of alien names. John, Stephen, Diana etc etc.

Well hey maybe names like Peter and David are also popular names on the lizard planet.

In the original mini-series, John said that the Visitor names would sound confusing to the people of Earth, so they just chose simple Earth names.
