I make no apologies, I love this show!
The Dennis McCarthy music is fantastic. The skyfighters are cool. The mothership is awesome. Ham Tyler is terrific. It's the most believable alien invasion ever brought to the screen. The cast is excellent. No matter how cheesy is gets, it's always unpredictable.
I could have done without the Star Child powers, but when they focus on Elizabeth as a character rather than as some sort of messiah, she's very interesting, and Jennifer Cooke is a wonderful actress -- and beautiful!
I love the heroism, I love the fact that most of the Visitors are decent people, I love the way a lot of humans collaborate with the Visitors. Daniel Bernstein, Eleanor Dupres, and Nathan Bates are some of the most interesting and realistic characters.
If oyu want to be grouchy, you can stack up intellectual and scientific problems against the show, and you can waste time comparing it to the miniseries if you want to be unreasonable, but come on, this show is just great! I wish it had gotten two or three seasons.
