I have a Sirius question...

The Visitors came from teh 4th planet in the Sirius system.
On earth, Sirius is the brightest star in the sky next to our own (wich is not a bright white/blue star like Sirius... it's the closeness that makes our own Sun look so bright... I get that).

But since Sirius is a bright white/blue star, why the glasses? They said it was because they were not used to the bright light on earth... but wouldn't planets in the Sirius system be bathed in a good bit of light themselves?

I didn't say Spoiler. The episode already aired! Why are you here if you haven't seen it?

reply

Maybe the Visitor Homeworld is proportionally further away from Sirius, so it appears dimmer to them than our sun does to us?

reply

I always thought the issue was that the fake eyes/lenses were what made them so sensitive.

reply

if the Visitor homeworld was further away from their own sun, it would not ONLY explain them being unaccustomed to the bright lights, but also for their higher threshold for the cold.

reply

That or the Visitors were lying, to hide their real eyes - especially in the 1984 TV series, one could see Visitors without the glasses on...
