Has anyone read 'V 2: The Second Generation'? What did you think

In case you havent,

It's been 20 years since the visitors came to earth and their still here. Forgoing Final Battle and tv series, kenneth Johnson takes off with the final part of the visitor plan.

Dianna has purged most of the resistance and fifth column. Earths oceans are Healy gone, and it's population is greatly reduced.

Mike donalven was a casualty of the purge, and Julie has moved operations to San Francisco.

At the end of Original Miniseries, the resistance had learned of a alien force which had once defeated the visitors and they sent a radio cry for help into space.

Help has finally arrived, three beings with great powers arrive on earth. But as their actions become questionable, the resistance wonders, with the visitor leader arriving to over see final steps of his plan, rather or not victory will bring peace or just a new tyranny

Also Johnson is working on remaking the first series and this as a sequel series maybe to hit theatres.

Dystopia = cool.

I might hunt down that novel - your synopsis makes it sound great.

And with today's CGI, the only limit is the imagination. Or lack thereof.

V should never have been remade. Johnson should have been brought back in 2009, with TFB and 19-ep TV show bypassed in favor of HIS vision.

I got bored with it and it got to be too much of a political soapbox for Kenneth Johnson.

I have a copy and was going to read it I tracked down all the other V novels also.

From all I've read it sounds like it has some good ideas, but the more I look into it, the more I'm glad it was never made into a mini-series. Don't get me wrong, I would love a continuation of the two mini-series and the TV show, especially if it involved other aliens.
