Soundwave pushed out of Galvatron's inner circle

Why did Galvatron push out Soundwave from his inner cirle and replace him with Cyclonus and Scourge? Poor Soundwave went from being one of Megatrons most trusted and loyal Leiutenants to a mere foot soldier.We know Scourge was once Thundercracker and even after he was reformated by unicron his low intelegance remained but even he seemed to be higher up in the chain of command then good old loyal Soundwave.Was the reason that Galvatron kicked Soundwave out of his inner circle due to Soundwave not rising to his defence when Starscream threw him out of Astrotrain to his presumed death in Transformers the movie?

So it's treason then!

Well they were pushing new toys. But in the world of the show I am not sure he did. Cyclonus was made to be his loyal solider. However Galvatron stil treats him well and even holds hands with him several times in carnage in c minor.

The TV series existed to advertise toys. Soundwave was probably less prominent in Season 3 because Hasbro wanted to promote newer toys more than him. Soundwave still had an unusually large amount of screen time in Season 3 for a character from the first wave of the toy line. Most of the original characters were killed or reformatted in the movie because their toys were being discontinued. Soundwave's toy was still available in stores in 1986 and Hasbro was releasing new Decepticon cassettes.

Soundwave should have convinced his fellow Decepticons to mutiny against Galvatron.Soundwave clearly showed leadership ambitions dueing Transformers The Movie.He would already have the loyalty of the Cassette's plus the rest of the rank and file Decepticons were fed up of raving mad Galvatron that they would even follow a uncharasmatic bore than a lunnatic.

But according to Hook no one would follow an uncharismatic bore like Soundwave. Forgotten plot point of the movie but Starscream already had the triple changers and the conehead jets on side when he made his move. If you watch the sequence after Astrotrain's odd excuse about weight in space,the cone heads look at each other when Starscream makes his move and when the fighting breaks out none of the jets or bliztwing battle each other but rather the other decepticons. Astrotrain is then the one crowning Starscream and Ramjet turns his weapons on the constructicons for dicking about.

What did Starscream promise them in return for their help in gaining the Decepticon leadership?

He promised there would never, ever be a plan involving taping the Earth's core again! Seriously that really got old, lol.
