Season 2 .5 or season 5?

I read on a websight that after Beast Machines that there was some thought within Hasbro that the next Transformers series should be what happened
after rebirth and that there was serious consideration, but I can't remember where I read it or what it was going to be called. Has anyone else read this or know anything about it. For the life of me I don't know why they haven't gone back to G1 season 4 and continued it. It had all the elements necessary to be successful... well, except the little green men- ugh!

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe...

There was to be a series called Transtech after Beast Machines, but it would have followed the storyline of the Beast Era, after the reformatting of Cybertron into a Technorganic planet, so it would only have been a very distant continuation of the G1 cartoon story. Nevertheless, a few classic G1 characters such as Optimus Prime, Starscream and Shockwave were set to return, living alongside the characters introduced in the Beast shows.

It got relatively far in its development, and a number of figures were already in their prototype stage, but the line got canceled due to various factors, and Habsro decided to do away with the Beast-theme.

But I've never heard that they would have wanted to continue the original G1 Rebirth story. Maybe you've confused the Reformatting with Rebirth?

I would have loved it had they made a series after Beast Machines.I always wanted to see what the Quintasons would have looked like if they were introduced dueing the Beast Machines series.

I've read that, had the original series not been cancelled after "Rebirth", it would have continued with the Quintessons teaming up with Unicron. That could have been interesting, I guess.
