Grimlock season 3
Did Grimlock transform into his robot mode at all dueing season 3? It seemed like he was stuck in his T Rex mode and the whole Nucleon Actionmaster thing had not been introduced.
So it's treason then!
He did in the Five Faces of Darkness miniseries, but I don't remember if he ever transformed afterwards. Staying in dinosaur mode was apparently in line with his newly acquired role as the huge, lovable comic-relief.

You and me both. And probably everybody else, too.
I guess that after they had introduced all those hordes of increasingly more "special" and "badass" characters into the series, the Dinobots quickly lost what novelty their dinosaur (and pterosaur) alt-modes gave them, and there remained nothing truly special about them, save for talking like cavemen and being dimwits. So these traits began to dominate their characters post-Season 2.
He was in bot mode in being human. Also a few others I think chaos. Also breifly on another. Rewatching season three and its not as bad as I recall him being stuck in Dino mode.
shareI have heard that Grimlock was the highest selling transformer toy out of all of the G1 toys. That is the reason why he (along with a few others) was in all three seasons of the transformers. The only bot that has been in all four seasons is Optimus Prime (I am not counting Goldbug because he was reformatted into Bumblebee). However I am sure that if season 4 continued that Grimlock would have shown up eventually. He was too popular of a character for him not to.

Yep, dino toys never get stale. Not to mention they aced his persona.
shareYes, I definitely remember him being in robot mode in "Chaos". It's a shame he wasn't featured in "Rebirth".
shareCan't think of the name of the episode but when he's fighting for the Red Wizard in that alternate dimension and the other Autobots show up he's gets excited to see them and transforms to robot mode.
"They have a grill, it's this grill. Now you have it...it's called America."
Yes I forgot about that episode and for good reason as it's one of my least favourite episodes.
