It would've been cool to see other Decepticons firing Megatron. It was so limiting just having Starscream, Soundwave, or another generic Seeker wield him alone. Other Decepticons like Blitzwing, Astrotrain, etc should've been given a chance to fire Megatron in some episodes.

Well he's a gun with a trigger, he needs to function the same way the reflector needed to function when Thundercracker shots a picture by pressing a shutter button.
But I suppose he could do that, since I saw him do it in gun mode in the intro. But I had a better option for him to fire himself, when he transforms into gun-mode he could have the choice of either being wielded by another transformer or be set on a sniper stand that appears so he can fire himself independently.
It's true that that's the nature of a weapon, to be fired by someone. On the other hand the Autobots don't need someone to drive them, lol.

I also had a problem with Galvatron. I like that he transforms into a howitzer-like laser cannon that auto-fires, but I just don't like it when it floats around in the air or space and then fires. His cannon mode is made to be on the terrain, after all and looks weird when it's floating. My solution to this is for him to have sort of a satellite laser cannon third mode for him to fire while floating when he's not on the ground.

There was one time when even Optimus Prime fired Megatron. It was when Starscream had gone mutinous, AGAIN, and had to be stopped and Optimus Prime and Megatron had to work together to stop him.
shareYeah, Optimus did use Megatron in his gun form on a few occasions to save the day. He also fired Megatron to stop the Insecticons as well. It's cool and great seeing Prime wield Megatron at times for a civil cause here and there.
