Headquarters are slanted

No one has asked this. Why is it that the Ark is stuck in a volcano almost 45 degrees sideways and the floor inside is level?
No one inside seems to walk uncomfortably nor does anything slip or roll away with gravity.

The same is true for Decepticon HQ spacecruiser Nemesis II. It is underwater not level to the ground. It is somewhat evident when the telescoping elevator pulls out the water that it is about 30 or 35 degrees tilted on the screen. Inside everything seems level with no problems with gravity pulling things skewed.

Are these bases constantly using their own gravity generators to prevent uncomfortable walking?

The Ark (to me at least) behaves more like a porch cover for the Autobot's base. I know it was never established but I believe they pulled technology from their ship and just adapted the bottom of the volcano to suit their needs. Which is why you often see technology and orange floors beside boulders and the inside of the volcano.

As for the Decepticon base it does look like it's sitting flat on the ocean floor. The angle of the elevator like you mention I believe is just an artist choice to curb the shaft for perspectives sake.

I watched the pilot 32 years ago, and the rest of the series/movie when it aired. I saw some re-runs, and bought and watched both DVD Sets...

In all that time, today is the first time I ever realized, that with the exterior of the ship being slanted, the interior should have been slanted too.

Amazing.
