Watching season 1 DVDs at the moment. I'm totally hooked again. Can't wait for season 2 and 3 DVDs! Hope it won't take too long!

One thing bugs me though. According to IMDb Joe Penny is born in 1956, which makes him 28 at the beginning of season 1 and just past 30 at the end of the series. I can't help it, but I think he looks way older!! Well, at least 35 or even closer to 40.. And the fact that Perry King (* 1948) is supposed to be 8 years(!) older than his Riptide partner, is almost impossible to see. There is supposed to be a 8 year age-gap between the two! I can't see it.

I'd say they both look between 35 and 40 years old at the time of Riptide (which incidentally.. is true for Perry King). Sexy as hell, still!

It is funny - today's faces of Hollywood are so much fresher and younger-looking than those of 20 years ago. I was in love with Nick from Riptide, Bo from Dukes of Hazzard, and even Murdock from the A-Team. They were all younger at that time than I am today, yet to see them even now on DVD, they don't look it. Must be something in the water.

Well, I guess everyone has a right to their own opinion, but I don't see Joe that way at all.
I've seen him in the Jane Doe movies on the Hallmark channel----which were all filmed very recently----and I thought he looked damn good.
His face is a bit fuller, yes, but its been over 20 yrs. since Riptide. No one looks the same after twenty years. I think he's aged quite well.
I saw a recent picture of Perry King and I think he looks great too.
They are both still quite handsome in my opinion. 20 years hasn't changed the fact that they both have the most gorgeous blue eyes.

I'm watching the pilot episode now. Perry King's character specifically states that he "will be turning 30 next week". In real life Perry King was older than Joe, but on the show they were around the same age. I actually thought, when he said he was turning 30 that he looked a bit older. :D

Just watching an Ep, 3-4 The Bargain Department, and Cody mentions that in a few years he'd be 40. If that were true and Nick's character had turned 30 just 2 years before I would say Cody is a few years older. Unless 8 years is a few to Cody.
