I am trying to remember if her mom ever came back? I don't recall her ever being in any of the shows. Am I right?

I was actually lucky enough to have a conversation with the head writer for Punky recently - Barry Vigon, whose interview is on season #1 - and he said that the creator never wanted Punky's mom to come back. It would have taken away from the theme of abandonment. I also asked about Season #4 coming out, and he said that he was sure that it would be released, but not sure when.
