I completely agree with number 6. Shout factory released 41 out of the 42 cartoons over the four season box sets. I would buy the complete animated series set even though I would get only 1 new cartoon "The Shoe Must Go On" that was not released as an extra feature when Punky Brewster was released on dvd between 2004-2008.

Hey that stuff would be awesome. I especially agree with the dedication from the refrigerator episode. What did you mean about the original ending?

i;m guessing ther talign about the episode cherie lif e saver. it ha d begining and ending with thelitte boy who gave thme the idea for the script. als in the first s eason punky gave advice at the end of each episode and in the second season they showe pictures the kids drew and sent in at thr en d and durng com ercal breaks. it would be neat to see those pictures again, exspecially for those who drew them.

While it was fabulous to see the episodes without their syndication cuts (I'd never seen the full-length Just Say No episode), and I'm also glad to see the full version of the opening credits, I do really wish the commercial buffers had been there. I know it's aggravating when watching a DVD and you want to get right back to the story, but they were so fun and colorful! Maybe at least as a bonus?

I would NOT advocate remastering the audio though. I HATE when stuff that was only made in mono or stereo gets remixed.

Actually given the current status a separate cartoon release would probably do pretty damn well. WB is proving that all those Hanna Barbera/Ruby Spears shows have pretty damn decent followings, especially when lesser ones are all selling well.

Problem being here i don't think Universal has any plans for the Punky brand. THem throwing the animated version on to the tv series dvds kind of proves it. Shout Factory was no doubt too lazy to pursue the music rights for the last segment so it's probably lost for good.

But on the flip side, Universal owns one other one from that library and that's Gravedale High. I imagine they'll dump that to Shout Factory some day too.

Sad to say i really don't think Universal cares. I really wish they could magically send them over to Warner Brothers, that is doing a hell of a lot better job. They are at least working to resolve their ones with clearance issues.
