George Gaynes died at his home in North Bend, Washington on February 15, 2016. He was 98. RIP

I'm watching him right now, in a bit part, on "Columbo". S2E1 "Etude in Black". That's what brought me here.

He did so many, many roles, like the Commandant in Police Academy to John in Tootsie to the Serbyrakov character in Vanya on 42nd Street. Not just this show.
