Buddy
When Buddy came back from his honeymoon his wife wasn't mentioned after that. Did they stay married?

shareDunno. Would be nice to know if the actress didn't want to come back, if the producers did a 180 and opted to write her off, or what... it was a big enough episode that a followup should have been warranted the next time Buddy returned...
shareI thought about it. Buddy had a wedding ring on after he came back. So I'm assumimg he stayed married.
shareshows often do that... once someone gets married the spouse is never heard from again.
when mr feeny married dean bolander, you never saw her again.
when sam married diane, you never saw diane again.
sometimes a spouse is written INTO a show. like dr bellows and Amanda. the first season she never existed but later on he was married for years.

I see what you're saying but that's odd for Night Court specifically considering Mac married Quon Le and she remained on a recurring character.
shareactually, didn't she marry INTO the show?

Yes, Mac and Quon Le married during the episode "Take My Wife, Please". So again, Mac's married his wife during the show and she remained on as a recurring character. But why they decided against bringing Buddy's wife as a recurring character (not a regular) I dunno.
Tony/Christine married on the show but Tony was written off after a few episodes. Which is fine by me since I didn't care much for his cliched Italian/New Yorker schtick.
OMG I couldn't stand him!!! he was so disgusting! I knew they had to do something because markie was pregnant but I don't know why they couldn't just have her hold boxes or something. she is totally NOT the type of person who would have had a baby alone in reality. she was totally old fashioned and they should have done something to go along with that.

Buddy was one of my favorite characters in the show. He was funny and he had heart.
shareI supposed it depends on how important it really is to the plot. By that point, Buddy appeared to be living a fairly regular and relatively well adjusted life - at least to the extent that he wasn't in a hospital any more, and after his honeymoon wanted to get back into the work force (even though he met his wife while was working at a seafood restaurant...)
The one that I've been wondering about is Bull's wife. I've been re-watching the series on LAFF, so I see some of the episodes a bit jumbled, and I'm not sure I haven't missed something, but at this point I'm fairly certain I've seen all the episodes. After Bull's wedding, there's an odd mention or two, and then nothing. What seems particularly odd was how he left at the end, without the fact that he had a wife who would miss him or be worried if he disappeared being a factor. In fact, I had seen the "last" episode, before the reruns got back around to the ones where he met Wanda or got married; so I was really surprised knowing where his story was heading, because it seemed to be treated as an insular development, and then nothing.

Never too late to reply! I have been watching the complete series now and just started season 8. Buddy was married S7, E6. his last episode was S7, E24. they did mention the wife a time or two in between. So really no reason to have her back on if they were writing Buddy out. I am curious of they are going to mention Buddy going forward. He was a good character and I will miss him.
