Skeeter

Did anyone else find it odd that Skeeter is in the Muppet Babies...yet she isn't in the Muppet Show or the Muppet Movies. Her twin Skooter made it past the Muppet Babies show, so where did she vanish to?

Kermit thought she had no talent and decided not to have her!!!

Good one. I honestly thinks it's because of the lack of female characters is why she was on the show. Why she never made it pas muppet babies, well I'm not sure. She was probably eaten by one of the monsters. There was always a monster eating a muppet on that show. Piggy could be considered a monster because she's a pig. She probably ate her because she got too close to kermit. Lol!

Yeah, Skeeter gets pimped out by Elmo. She probably went on an o.d. over in some back alley on Sesame Street.

From the muppet wiki:

In MuppetZine issue 3 (1993), Muppet Babies storyboard director Scott Shaw wrote: "As for the adult Skeeter, Henson Associates art director Michael Frith once explained that she's now a famous explorer, never seen again after an expedition to the jungles of the Amazon!"

It's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly..timey-wimey..stuff. -The Doctor on the nature of time.

Scooter/Skeeter are supposed to be gophers, according to Scooter's introduction in the Muppet show.

So, if she's an explorer, maybe she hooked up with Gobo, who also has similar looks? LOL...

You're confusing gophers (small fury animals) and gofers (people who "go for" various errands [coffee, memos, etc.])

I think Skeeter went Fraggle hunting before that and now they are all extinct.

I spent many hours pondering this very question when I was a little kid. I had been watching Muppet Babies for a couple of years before I ever saw an episode of The Muppet Show. I think I used to tell myself that she was too boring to make it onto The Muppet Show. My older brother used to try to scare me with stories about how she had met an untimely end (he also once told a very convincing story about Mr. Rogers being a robot). Then the day finally came when I realized that Muppet Babies (1984-1991) was made after The Muppet Show (1976-1981). And that they just needed another female character. Duh.

Now I like to think that Skeeter isolated herself by trying to demand a larger salary than the other babies. After being dropped from the Muppet franchise, depression led to comfort eating led to type two diabetes. Now she's thinking about appearing on Celebrity Fit Club. Don't call it a comeback.
