PLEASE RELEASE THIS ON DVD!!! I'M AN 80'S KID
I realize that they don't release Muppet Babies on DVD because of copy right law. They used too many clips from movies and such but they should go ahead and do it anyways. I mean they did end up releasing THE WONDER YEARS series which used a lot of oldies songs. They really ought to release Muppet Babies on DVD. There is an audience for it - me! And many 80's kids who saw the cartoon like me.
I was a kid in the 80's and loved watching Muppet Babies. I remember it would be on Saturday mornings on LA TV station CBS if I'm not mistaken. I saw many episodes between 1984 and 1989. When the 90's came along, I was interested in other programs and the cartoons began to change and they didn't attract me as much. At any rate, I was already a teenager in the 90's and not a kid so my tastes in programs changed. The last good cartoon I ever saw was TINTY TOON ADVENTURES, which ran from around 1990 to 1993.
Muppet Babies was a great show for kids. Watching it now on Youtube you can clearly see the big difference in style and content than today's stupid cartoons who have a focus on goofy comedy only. Cartons began to decline in the mid to late 90's and have been terrible ever since. The 80's was a Golden Era of cartoons, in fact the final great decade of cartoons which had began since the 30's. In the 80's, we had our pick of millions of cartoons. They were all great. I saw so many. Muppet Babies had great storylines and taught children valuable lessons in friendship, manners, morals and taught them to use their imagination. Since it was the 80's, and most homes did not have computers to distract you, there was no internet, most average families did not have cell phone, kids were really more imaginative and had tree houses and used their imagination to play - the way they did on Muppet Babies. 80's kids totally related to the Muppet Babies like I did. I was just a kid and I loved to use my imagination at the time. It's no wonder I developed an interest in WRITING FICTION. Muppet Babies had wonderful references to current 80's culture - the movies like Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and classics like Wizard of Oz.. and also great songs and moments that were so 80's - Piggy showing up as Rudy in the Cosby Show, Piggy on Johnny Carson, Muppet Babies doing an MTV music video, etc.
80's was a wonderful time to be a kid. Truly the final good era of children's entertainment. I'm sorry in the 90's it was not the same. The children began to become more spoiled and into fashion and technology since computers were beginning to increase in popularity. And little girls wanted cell phones like Alicia Silverstone in Clueless LOL No. 80's was the best time to be a kid.
Long live 80's cartoons!
