Best Show Ever?

I typed in the name of this show with glee, certain that there would be countless other children of the 80's who remember this show for the escapist brilliance that it was. Umm... not so much. I think this Jason Bateman vehicle would hold up against even the best eps of Family Ties, Night Court, Cheers, et al. Maybe it should have aired on Thursday nights...... Anyway, I second the sentiments of the other poster who would welcome any information on where to obtain video, DVD, etc. of this landmark and tragically short-lived sitcom.

Man, I would love to have this show on DVD - I have 6 episodes taped from my original betamax (!) that I just dumped up to DVD - they're not high quality but at least I can still watch 'em!

As a child of the 80's I too loved this show and was upset when it was cancelled. Does anyone remember the Dregs of Humanity??

Good God, how true...about everything - aging, role model, etc. Always stuck by Jason Bateman in all that he's done (Teen Wolf Too even included...ugh, barely). Ferris before Ferris, it was cool seeing that in another post and also so true. Bring on the DVD, indeed! If Greg the Bunny can deservedly get a compilation released, so should It's Your Move. Hmmmm, what is it about ever-so-slightly subversive TV shows canceled before their times???

the DREGS OF HUMANITY rocked. it's pretty much the only thing I remember about this TV show.

I remember one of the characters handing over a glove saying "that's all that was left" of the band.....????? Am I mad?

Bateman's character in this show always had be rolling on the floor. Awesome sarcastic humor/timing. If I'm not mistaken though, Part 2 of the Dregs episode never aired due to the show being cancelled....could be wrong. Man, I would love to see those shows again!

I remember this show. Me and my brother loved it. Especially when he created the fake pop group "The Dreggs of Humanity". Would love to see it again, but they never repeat it in my part of the world.

"The "Dregs of Humanity" episode was in two parts, and I never got to see part ii. It's been driving me crazy for years now."-------

THE REASON no one got to see part 2 of the "Dregs of Humanity" episode was because President Reagan pre-empted television that early evening for the State of the Union speech. I remember being all psyched to watch the 2nd part...and sitting down and then --Voila---here comes a press conf. from the President---I was so mad (lol--pretty childish huh?)! I'm not sure when that 2nd part was actually aired but it wasn't on the next week---i couldn't believe it! Why in the world would they not air it in sequence?

so, i was 14 years old in 1984, and Jason bateman's character on the show was 14?...needless to say I LOVED this show---may it rest in peace and please may God grant us a DVD!:-)

It did eventually air, but I think it was on a Saturday - not on its normal night...

I saw someone mention something about this in another thread on this board. Part 2 never aired??? Yes it did!!! I remember it. If someone with video tapes could help me - Matthew had to decide what to do about the fact that the Dregs were asked to sign a record deal. To get out of it, they had the Dregs killed in some kind of accident. There is even another user on here who mentions that girl who claimed to be a groupie of the Dregs (in the episode). If this was all part of the first part of the show, I apologize - I have a bad memory!

My memory tells me, though, that my older bro and I SCREAMED at the TV the following week when part 2 didn't air. There was some time delay (several weeks, maybe?), and we had to keep checking the station and TV guide to see when it would air. But I could SWEAR it eventually did...

this is one of those shows that i have a major memory of laughing at till i began to cry
especially that episode..I think it was a soccer match and Jason's friend Eli was the goalie..I just remember how they filmed a close up on Eli and had the sound of his heart thumping
man it was hilarious
truly one of the better shows on tv ever

This was most certainly a taste of what was to come in the 90's up till today. (Although, today's T.V. is a pale reflection of the mid 80's and early 90's)
I would consider this in the ranks with "Married with children" "gritty" and pushing the censors envelope. It was just too much for the 80's. (NOT IN MY OPINION)
I wanted to be Jason Bateman sooooo bad, I could taste it. He was the king of "shadiness" I LOVED IT!!
