I know most of the location filming in Germany actually took place in Hamburg but wonder if any actually took place in Dusseldorf?
One scene in particular made me wonder, from episode 9 The Alien.
Barry and Wayne are walking along the riverside discussing McGowan and behind them is definitely the Rheinturm tower which I recognise from a recent visit to Dusseldorf.
Any thoughts?
Ha Google just answered my own question.
Some scenes from episodes 4,9 and 13 were filmed in Dusseldorf.
Very little was filmed in Dusseldorf, mostly second unit stuff, but you do get to see some of the riverfront in a few episodes.
Most of it was filmed in England, with most of the German scenes in Hamburg. Other parts of Germany were used, but Dusseldorf comes way down the list.

Just watched the "Alien" episode a couple of days ago.
There is one scene where you can see a "tram stop" sign that reads "Luegplatz". I think Neville is in that scene.
Although I am from Germany, I have never been to Düsseldorf. But I looked it up online. There is definitely a "Luegplatz" in Düsseldorf. So this scene was obviously filmed there.
One more thing I noticed about the "Alien" episode:
The porn cinema they can see when they look out the window is obviously in Hamburg. All the cars that are parked outside have license plates from Hamburg (HH). So this bit was film material from Hamburg...
Yes, there are a lot of HH number plates.
