Why did David Croft leave the show?
Does anyone know why David Croft stop writing the show after series 6?
I think you can tell when he leaves as the standard drops slightly.
He didn't. He stepped down as producer, but he was still senior writer for the whole run. I would imagine it was because of "you rang my lord" which started in 1988.
