Question about Herr Flick

I've recently discovered this series about two months ago and I love it. I'm about halfway through the whole series watching every night on YouTube thanks to "AlloNighthawk". Since I live in the states the is really the only way I can watch it apart from buying the dvds (which I'll probably eventually do anyway). Now to my question. In the fifth season, Herr Flick suspects the General and Colonel along with Lt Gruber are hatching a scheme to blow up Hitler. I can't remember how Herr Flick came to this suspicion. Did something happen that I missed, or was this just out of the blue to give the character a storyline in this season.

I can't remember that well also, but I guess it was something related to suspicious knockwursts.

Edit: I've found it. The idea first came to life in Season 4, Episode 4 (The Flying Nun) - and yes, it was just a "product of a superior mind".

von Smallhousen overheard the General and the Colonel planning for Hitler's birthday party, and they were talking about "blowing up" balloons and how Gruber would have to do it, etc...
