Series 1 + 2 DVD Boxset: Are there Subtitles?

Hello!

It would be really great if somebody who has the boxset could tell me whether it has French subtitles, or at the very least English subtitles for the hard of hearing (and if so, is Crabtree subtitled in proper English or phonetically?)

Not the Region 2 DVD. All the other seasons have English subtitles.
