Did Helga actually like Herr Flick???
I think you could see that he liked her, but she always looked a bit uncomfortable around him

shareI've often thought they had a mother/son relationship in some ways.

No, I don't think they have a mother/son relationship. I think it's very sexual, but I wonder if it is jsut that to Helga. Sex. I don't thi nk it is for Herr Flick. Merriemoles, I agree with you, actually.
This is fun...analyzing a character that's not made for analyzing, I think :-)

I think she liked him & was attracted to him but didn't want to marry him
After rewatching every epiaode latley, I have come to the conclusion that she was just physically attracted to him and you know...wantec to have kinky weird sex with him. She was with him most of the time to spy on him for the Colonel and all that....I love Helga!
shareI think Helga liked Herr Filck very much and I also think that their relation was very sexual.I saw that she wasn`t very happy when he changed his face,so that means she was attracted to him physically ;)
shareHm...I don't know, I think she only liked him because he had power and that stuff. I saw an interview with Kim(Helga) and she said that Helga secretly hoped that she would work her way up to Hitler and get rid of Eva Brown :-) That's quite funny, actually. Helga was very manipulative, actually. She changed sides as soon as the other side went well....I love her!
shareLol ^^ where did you see that?
Hmm I always got the impression she was attracted to him but didn't actually like him much , if you get what I'm saying..

Kind of the way a girl can be attracted to a big dumb jock, or a bad-boy type biker dude. It's all superficial, not affectionate.I totally agree with that...Helga was obviously attracted to Herr Flick...mostly to his powerful position, I think. She obviously didn't love him. Poor Herr Flick...
I think she really fancied her. Helga was a bit of a Nazi... But certainly of the nice kind! :)
shareHelga did not have any choice but be involved with him.
In an early episode when he expresses an "interest" in her she tells him that she has a boyfriend in the Afrika Corps (if I recall correctly) and he asks Helga her boyfriends name so that he can get rid of him.
I do not think she liked him at all because she was very loyal to the Colonel and just had to go along with Flick. She only tells flick what is absolutely necessary.
Hard to tell. She knew that he could definitely take her up the rankings, as it were, but when she asked if she could kiss him & then did so, I always thought she looked pretty keen. I remember the time when she was ordered by General von Klinkerhoffen to seduce & marry Herr Flick, & he was really shy - it was so cute! She's more loyal to the Colonel though, & she did keep refusing Herr Flick's proposals - though if I remember correctly the ways he phrased them were never very appealing! Dive into a cold lake in the morning, dress in banana leaves, that kind of thing.

I remeber in the last ever episode, she was quite 'nasty' to him.
shareYeah, I've just been watching that - she didn't seem to like him at all in Series 9. I wonder if it was partly cos he physically changed - she didn't seem to have any feelings at all for him after that.

I think they complimented each other perfectly. I love when Kim always looks like she's going to start laughing.
My boyfriend got the box set for me and I was watching The Funeral from Season 1 and at the end, the coffin that is supposed to contain Rene starts rolling down a hill and Flick and Helga are observing from a distance. The coffin contains a mine that blows up and dirt lands on Helga and Flick says "That was very amusing..". Then dirt then lands on him and he says "That was NOT very amusing" and Kim just turns her head to the side and is laughing...
That show must have been fun to work on.....

i think she just wanted to rise up the ranks and either started liking him a bit after a while or just acted her way through the whole thing. she would have thrown him over given the chance, in the end i don't think he was important to her in the love department

let's not go to camelot, it is a silly place
A bit uncomfortable?
Did we watch the same show? She is TERRIFIED of him, and who wouldn't be? You don't deal with the Gestapo and not be afraid, as they were basically omnipotent in conquered Europe during that era.
Mr. Flick (looks weird to say it this way, doesn't it?) could have her liquidated in a second and no one would bat an eye or question him at all, there would be no consequences for him.
She doesn't "like him", she is PETRIFIED and does and says ANYTHING she thinks he wants to hear and see, and that's it. Her true loyalties lie elsewhere, but she can't just ignore him, because he has so much POWER (which on a sub-conscious, instinctual and animalistic level probably arouses her as well).
"A bit uncomfortable"?? You are a master of understatement.
Helga's motivation when it comes to Flick is fear. That's all.
