finally finished the series! (sad to say)

My husband and I have been binge-watching this on Netflix. And so sad to finally finish. Now I'm attempting to find the two post-series specials somewhere.

Looks like one is on youtube in various short segments. It reminds be a bit of one of the special documentaries on the DVDS. Can't find the other.

What annoyed me about one of the DVDs (can't recall which one) is that on this documentary, they revealed the ending of the last episode. Criminal. I really found one of the special features fascinating. It was a British talk show in which fans of the show and detractors got together and discussed Allo, Allo, intelligently. (something I doubt you would see in the United States.) Reminded me a bit of the controversy with Hogan's Heroes. I am with Mel Brooks on this. Making fun of Nazis is how we get back at them, although I can certainly empathize with those that were horrified by both programs.

Sad to know that so many of these wonderful actors have passed away.

Not much to find on the woman who played Edith. She was so good in that role, and I often wonder what her real singing voice was like. Considering her age difference with Gordon, she really did a fantastic job and did not look or appear her real age.

And the woman who played Maria. Why did she leave? I preferred her to Mimi, although that actress was good as well.

I know my husband and I will be saying the famous lines in our home for a long time to come.

We've spent a great deal of time this past year (as there is not much good on television) catching up on British shows, old and new. First we discovered Netflix had Danger: UXB (high recommended), and then we went through all of Foyle's War. (again, highly recommended.) Next came The IT Crowd, which we found hilarious. Ah, I guess now I can always pull up a Red Dwarf.

Cheers!
