In terms of real life how long did the 10 year series relate to real life.
at the beginning of series 6 rene says "if you remember i was shot 2 months ago"
so taking that into account how does all 10 series relate to the time scale
The invasion of France began in May 1940, so judged by how personal Rene and the others at the cafe knew the individual Germans by name, i would think the show begins in the middle of 1942 and then takes place to either July, August or September 1944, where large parts of France is liberated by British and American troops.
