'This corn is raw.'
- "I know, isn't it wonderful? It's so crisp!"
- "Of course it's crisp, it's RAW!!"

"Couldn't we just take pills? And cook the corn?"

(admit it- you learned to butter corn the "right way" because of this scene, right?)

We started buttering our corn that way after watching "WarGames"! Isn't it strange that this occurred to someone? Or, it might be a common tradition in some families. It was a neat bit to include in the movie.

It was pretty cool, never learned to butter corn that way.
shareIt was such an important lesson the camera really focused in on the procedure. I have to assume the director had thought of it or it was a tradition in his home and was aghast that the rest of the nation didn't do it this way. He did this nation a great service by including it in the film.
GO SEAHAWKS! WORLD CHAMPIONS!
Lol. I noticed how he focused on it. It was a nice touch actually, something we often don't see in current films.
shareThis was the first lifehack, waaaaay before the internet.
I want the doctor to take your picture so I can look at you from inside as well.
Loved this scene :) and I still forget to butter the corn that way. Brilliant.
Attn All Units!
The director made it very intentional to show and close in on the corn-buttering shot. I have to think his family did this and he never saw anyone else do it this way or the idea just came to him at one time and now, having the power to reach millions of people, he decided to put his brilliant idea on film and train the entire world in the right way (HIS way) to butter corn.

Just to cross the streams.....
"Is this corn hand shucked?"
Question is, why didn't he realize the corn was raw until after he took a bite? Cooked corn on the cob tends to be quite hot.
