Will lose something if remade **SPOILERS**

The fact that Videodrome is a pirate cable station made this movie real interesting, because although it was being broadcast, nobody could tell where it was coming from. A modernized version would probably have Videodrome being a channel on Youtube or something to that extent. Finding a location to a Youtube channel, by today's technology, would be easier to find than finding out where a pirate cable station is broadcasting.

The scene when Max reaches into his abdomen and pulls out a live pulsing video cassette. Is one of the most grotesque and brilliant scenes put on film. A modernized version would probably have Max forming an organic porthole on his head somewhere. It would feel too much like The Matrix.

Also, the scene in which Max's hand becomes and organic gun would probably be replaced with a laser gun, because the MPAA nowadays has a thing about guns in film, in light of the Aurora, Colorado shootings. So, that said, Max's hand would probably turn into a plasma ray shooter instead. What better way to get rid of a real life weapon than to replace it with a futuristic weapon that doesn't exist.
