It's Your Friends!

If Julie's friends can't accept her feelings for Randy then they're not really her friends, are they?

reply

I disagree. It is more important for friends to share concerns than to automatically be supportive. This movie made Randy the good guy so it had Julie's friends fall to a superficial reason so the audience would root for him.

In actuality, Julie's friends would had good reason to share their concerns. Randy was a punk but the movie glossed over it.

reply

Well, still Julie can't let other people decide who her friends are gonna be just because she was in love with Randy.

reply

Julie's friends didn't make any decison. They used peer pressure to influence her decision.

reply

Well, Julie can't let other people use peer pressure to influence her decision either.

reply

He was more of a poser punk dressed from the mall rather than a real punk.

reply

Julie was shallow and immature. She rejected Randy because of peer pressure from her friends, then quickly went back with him just because he kicked her prom king boyfriend's ass.
